‘Neji’ he didn’t want to wake up from his nap. ‘Neji’ the voice persisted, ‘Neji, wake up!’ he opened one eye and saw his teammate, Tenten standing over him looking somewhat angry. ‘What’ he said annoyed and waited for her to continue, after several minutes of silence Neji opened both of his eyes and crossed his arms ‘Tenten?’ he asked while waving a hand in her face. ‘Well it’s getting late, I was hoping you could walk me home’ she asked not even looking him in the eyes, she knew he would be mad at her for waking him up from his nap, which he took everyday after training. ‘Sure’ and he stared out of the training area and she had to hurry if she didn’t want to be left behind “wow I can’t believe he said ‘yes’ well this is going to be interesting” she said to herself grabbing her boyfriend’s hand and running off. “Maybe tonight is the night…’ Neji thought.

They arrived at Tenten’s home and Neji, the gentleman that he is, walked her to the door stop. ‘Thanks, Neji once again and sorry for waking you up at training…’ she trailed off, like something was on her mind. ‘Tenten?’ he asked, this time more concerned for her ‘Tenten?’ he tried again. Tenten snapped back from her trace ‘Sorry Neji, guess I was just thinking’ she smiled, but Neji wasn’t convinced…‘Neji?’ she asked ‘Hn’ he replied. ‘Never mind’ Neji had a great idea to get her to spill her thoughts ‘Tenten, will you go out with me tonight?’ Tenten was surprised, but she was ecstatic, and hugged him before she ran inside and closed the door behind her. Neji had made reservations at a restaurant with his cell walking back to his home “This will be very interesting” Neji thought as he continued his long walk home.

If you know it’s me, then why do you question my feelings?

It was now 7:30 pm and Tenten had almost gotten ready, she already showed and now she just had to find her outfit. “Which one do I wear? I want to look nice, but not to revealing” she thought, maybe I should get a second opinion. ‘I know I’ll call Hinata!’ she ran over to her phone and dialed the numbers…
‘Hinata? It’s Tenten’
‘Hi Tenten, what do you want?’
‘I’m going on a date with Neji, and I was hoping you could come over and help me with my outfit’
‘Sure Tenten I would love too, I’ll be over in 10 minutes’
‘Thanks Hinata! Bye’
‘Bye’
(Hinata) “So Neji-nii-san was talking about this, well Tenten doesn’t know a thing…hmm I hope all goes well nii-san” Hinata thought as she ran down the stairs and shut the door behind her.

Hinata arrived at Tenten’s house in 10 minutes like she promised and when Tenten answered the door, Hinata couldn’t believe what she saw; Tenten was freaking out and she had been crying. ‘Tenten, calm down please go in the bathroom and wash your face, I’ll pick out outfit’ Tenten hugged, thanked, and went to the bathroom to do what Hinata said. Hinata went to Tenten’s room and saw that clothes were everywhere and sighed, but when she was cleaning up she found something that would definitely work. Tenten came back 5 minutes later and saw her room was cleaned up and something was on her bed, while Hinata was sitting on the other side of the bed. ‘What’s that?’ Tenten asked, but Hinata just said ‘Look, at what I found’ Tenten went over to her bed and saw a light pink dress, she long forgot about, and saw that it was perfect ‘Hinata, I picked the place isn’t it a little over-dressy?’ she asked her friend, Hinata just shrugged and hugged her friend, then the door bell rang, Tenten walked down the stairs while, Hinata stayed upstairs; she didn’t want to face Neji right now.

Tenten opened the door and saw Neji; he was wearing a white long sleeve shirt, and black pants. ‘Wow, Neji you look good’ Tenten said, this seemed to make him blush and she liked that. When Neji finally looked at her, she was stunning, and Neji was glad he didn’t wait. ‘Tenten you look absolutely gorgeous’ Neji said without taking his eyes off of her, now Tenten was blushing ‘thanks’ she said quietly. ‘So shall we head off’ he offered her his hand and she accepted it, and they walked off hand-in-hand heading towards there destination. When they were out of sight, Hinata was watching Neji and Tenten walk off through Tenten’s window and she smiled ‘I hope you succeed nii-san’ she said before leaving Tenten’s house.

When they arrived at the restaurant, Neji gave the hostess his name, and directed them to a special part of the restaurant where it was a big room, but not too big, so it didn’t feel uncomfortable and it was soundproof. ‘Neji, this is too much, you know I can’t pay for this’ Tenten said, Neji said ‘Tenten, its fine, and it’s my treat tonight’ Tenten couldn’t help but smile and this made Neji’s heart sore. The waitress came and asked for there orders and Neji told Tenten to go first ‘I would like to have the chicken with the vegetables please and a water’ ‘Sure thing sweetie! And how about you darling?’ the waitress asked Neji ‘I would like to have the same thing and a water please’ he said ‘Ok, I’ll be right back with your drinks’ she said walking off.

‘Tenten?’ Neji asked ‘Hm, oh yes?’ Tenten answered ‘what were you thinking about earlier?’ Neji said. ‘Oh that…well you see I received a letter from my sister (1) and she told me she’s getting married…’ ‘Here you go!’ the waitress said and then walked off after handing us our drinks. ‘As you were saying’ Neji started ‘Oh um…right my sister is getting married and now I’m the only one not married and…’ she trialed off, she wanted to cry, but something stopped her; it was Neji…he was hugging her.

‘Neji…I’m sorry it’s just that I was the youngest of my family, and I have always been the forgotten one’ she said crying now. ‘Tenten’ he said she looked up at him, ‘please stop crying, because when you cry my heart stops’ (2) she was shocked, but when Neji let her out of the hug and she went to the bathroom to wipe her face. The waitress came back with their food, and asked ‘where’s your friend?’ Neji wasn’t going to reply until she said ‘So did you ask her yet?’ Neji almost chocked on his first bit, but thankfully swallowed it and asked her ‘How did you know I was go-’  the waitress just smiled, ‘I just know these things, plus she’s coming back you better ask her quick before she leaves…’ then with that she left. “Wow, that was weird” he thought to himself

Tenten came back rushing to the table, ‘Neji, I’m sorry to make this short but I just got a call from my sister, she said that her fiancé went missing, I have to go as soon as the dinner is over’ “Damn that waitress was right, but how do I propose now?” he thought this over as they were chatting over this-and-that at dinner. When the waitress came back to ask if they wanted dessert Neji immediately said ‘yes’ and she left without another word.

‘Neji, that’s sweet and all, but I have to get going please, don’t make this harder than it really is’ Tenten said sadly. Neji could feel his anger rising for interrupting ‘his’ day and for making Tenten feel all emotional, “that really doesn’t suit her” he thought, but was snapped out by the waitress coming back with a small piece of chocolate cake with a little yellow rose on top and something else too… ‘Neji is this?’ she asked stunned nothing else would come out, but she tired. Neji was confused, but then saw HIS diamond engagement ring on the rose “what in the world?” he thought to himself as Tenten still stared at the ring. The waitress said in Neji’s ear ‘what are you waiting for, go propose already!’ and with that she disappeared, and Neji wanted to find her, but had a more pressing matter at hand. He grabbed the ring off the rose and bent down on one knee and grabbed Tenten’s hand ‘Tenten, I know you’re going through a lot right now, but if you don’t mind, would you be my wife?’ Tenten couldn’t speak, but she had to say something ‘Neji, look I have to go, but I-’


4 Days later:
‘Tenten!’ screamed a voice that Tenten remembered, but when she turned around she saw her sister, Mika, (3) and they ran to each other. They hugged and chatted about the good old times when someone made an ‘Hn’ sound and Tenten ran back to introduce them. ‘Mika, this is my wonderful husband Neji’
